drape

hankerchief vaseForming glass over a mold (compared to into a mold).

Hankerchief vases (see image at right) are common example of glass that has been draped.

As a general rule, draping molds should be made of stainless steel or other material with a higher expansion rate than glass. This will minimize the risk of the glass “grabbing” the mold when it cools and contracts.
