Any cutting, grinding or polishing of glass is known as cold-working. It is called "cold" to distinguish it from techniques in whic the glass is formed with heat.

Common cold-working tools methods include sandblasting, beveling, sanding, engraving and acid etching.

I'm having problems with a haze appearing after I grind or saw with my ring saw and then fuse my work.  I'm scrubbing it thouroughly with a brush.  I have even tried scrubbing with soap in the past and I have a sonic cleaner I use.  What is going on.  Is my grinder or ring saw blade dirty? I didn't know it had to be cleaned?  This has become a real problem and mystery for me.
