    Unicorn is amongst the most favored mythical creatures that appear to exist in many culture. In the western world, unicorn is normally portrayed as being a slender, white beautiful horse with a spiralling horn on its forehead. Unicorns appear just to the pure at heart in accordance with the some legend, this is perhaps why so few of us have witnessed one. Although behavior and appearance from the unicorn differs with respect to the location, it turned out usually considered untamable and wild under western culture, during the Orient it was gentle, peaceful, meek and considered to be the bringer of excellent luck.

    In the western world the unicorn was initially mentioned by a Greek physician and historian of Persia and India, Ctesias, in 398 BC. Based on him, unicorns lived in India. Ctesias described the creatures as "wild asses that are as huge as a horse, and even bigger. Their heads are dark red, their are white as well as their eyes are deep blue. The horn on his or her forehead is pretty long, about half-a-meter long". the horn was also described as white at the base, brownish or black in the centre with a red, sharp tip. People considered that the horn possesses healing abilities. It became quite fashionable amongst royalty and nobility in the Middle Ages to own a drinking cup created from the horn of unicorn since it was likely to detect poison. The dog looks like it’s a combination of a Himalayan antelope, Indian rhinoceros and also the wild ass.

    In China, their unicorn is known as as Qilin or Chilin/ Kilin. The Chinese unicorn is considered among the four sacred beasts: Qilin, Phoenix, Dragon and the Tortoise. Qilin can also be thought to be a creature of great power and wisdom. Its appearance was always considered an indication of all the best .. Chinese people believe Qilin can only appear in the period if you find a wise and type ruler or in the period when these great leaders is about to die or becoming born.

    In the West, unicorn is often a symbol of strength, agility, endurance, wisdom, perseverance and playfulness. It is usually represents hope, purity, grace and love. During China, this sacred creature can be a indication of all the best, protection and wisdom.
