Do you guys ever vent your kiln during the final cooling stage? My kiln is so well insulated that it takes forever to cool. Once the temp cools to around 350 degrees, I’ve tried leaving the kiln cracked open. It still cools at a rate much slower than the 300 degrees per hour that my firing schedule calls for, so it should be ok – right?

Does anyone use HI Temp 1800 on your stainless steel draping molds? How often do you recoat the molds? I’ve had great results so far, but am not sure if I should recoat every 5 times? Every 20 times? I initially used several coats, and fired the mold in the kiln for 20 min at 200 F. Going forward, do I just need an occasional touch up, or…[Read more]
