Using Ring Saw to cut off Drop excess?

Hi – I’m new here and although not new to fusing, i’m brand new to using drop molds.  I was wondering if anyone had any advice about whether I can use my Taurus Ring Saw to cut off the top of a drop mold?  I live in the boonies so there is no one around that has a diamond tile saw and I can’t afford a new piece of equipment….so….I’ve heard rumours you can do it with a ring saw but I’d like some input if anyone has experience.
