    Your controller is probably mounted on the side of your kiln – which can get to over 200° F.  Electronics don’t like heat.

    Here’s any easy solution:  Pick up a cheap desk fan and set it up on the ground directly below your controller and blowing right over it.  Whenever you fire the kiln, turn on the fan.

    Because cold air sinks, the air on the floor will usually be the coolest in the room – and that’s the air you will be blowing over your controller.

    Most 12 key controllers can tell you the internal temperature of the controller if you know what keys to press.  I’ve seen temperatures drop by 30° with this simple, cheap trick.
