I have been fusing glass for about 3 years now. On the mold side of the slumped piece, I sometimes get  shiney and not shiney patches . Doesn’t happen all the time. Cause?

The duller spots touched the mold; the shinier spots did not touch the mold.

Thank you so much. Is there anything you can do so  this doesn’t occur? Is  it the mold or the firing schedule? Or just to be expected.

Anytime glass touches a mold, it is going to pick up the texture of the mold. You can coldwork the piece afterward, or just accept that fused glass picks up texture from anything it touches.

What kind of cold work? Sand blasting.?
