A client wants his Belle Epoque Perrier Jouet Champagne bottle slumped. It has the painted flowers with the gold outline on the bottle. I’ve never fired this particular brand before. I’ve slumped many other wine bottles with painted labels. Sometimes they turn out great and sometimes it burns off. Has anyone tried this particular brand??
I’ve successfully slumped two of them. The white does fade a bit, but it does ok. I actually do two firings on this one. The first one is in a bottle mold only to about 1350 for a 10 minute soak. The second firing is to 1400 on the shelf. This preserves the enamelling better with the lower temp and seems to keep the bubble out of the neck.
