random organic wavy bowl edges

I know how to make my bowl edges wavy UP and DOWN, if you know what I mean.  What I cannot work out how to do, is make them go IN and OUT, the way that ocean water breaks on the beach, in a kind of random, frilly, effect, some parts longer than others.  I have tried cutting a circle and then slowly cutting into the circle…but I find the glass breaks in straight lines for me.  I have tried putting large, clear frit in a random fashion around the edge – better, but when full fused, the glass is never entirely flat and clear.  If you have any suggestion, I would be most grateful.

If I’m correctly discerning your “up and down” from your “in and out”…  have you tried grinding out
“grooves” with a regular glass grinder or even cutting them out with a ring saw?  Then your slumping will provide the needed “up and down”…if I’m getting this right?
