    Hello all,

    I’m incredibly curious as to how this artist achieved this effect:

    It’s kept me up at night.  I can’t figure out if it’s  some kind of precision slumping or a chemical reaction?  I’d love to hear your thoughts.   Thanks!

    It was suggested by the artist what was done. The top piece of opal glass was sandblasted with holes and void ‘stems’. A second layer of transparent glass underneath is set onto hilltops made of refractory which correspond to the round shapes. The whole works is slumped/fused at once. That’s my best guess…
