I have a paragon fusion 7 kiln.  I want to create a 10″ x 10″ dammed piece  but my shelf is a 13″ circle.  a 10 inch square just goes over the edge.  I’d like to get an 11″ square shelf and lop of the corners.  Problem is, I can’t find an 11″ shelf.  If I get a 12″ icher and use my tile saw to cut it be useable ?  Will the shelf likely make it the the sutting process in one peice?

    Thanks, Beth

Hi I also have a paragon 7. Yes you can cut another kiln shelf up to use with a tile saw. I have done this. You can also cut a ceramic tile from Menards, but test fire first to make sure it doesn’t break. You can also cut up and use a pizza stone. I have been lucky enough to find one at Goodwill. Make sure you use kiln wash, or fiber paper, or fiberboard to prevent your glass from sticking to the cut up pieces.
