I’m a new fuser and I made the classic beginner mistake. I fused stringers inside two pieces of glass with no place for the air to escape. Of course, I have bubbles, but…I like them. I want to decorate the piece further and refire keeping the bubbles. Is that possible? Everything I have read says to break the bubbles and fill with frit. Any advice? Thanks – Helanna
The degree to which the bubbles will expand is related both to their current size and glass thickness covering them and the temperature to which you are going to take the glass in the second firing. If you tack fuse, there will be less growth of the bubbles, although there will be some.
