    Hi Everyone,

New to glass fusing and have a question regarding “leveling the kiln”

How level should the kiln be? We are getting ready to set my new kiln (Olympic clamshell style 250lbs) in place and wonder about how level the kiln should be. +/-?  from flat?  should we try to get it +/- .010   .020  ?

    Please advise.

    thanks

    Cindy

OIt is of course a good idea to get your whole kiln reasonably level.  But the important element is to get the bed and especially the shelf level.  The more level the shelf is the better the results of fusing and other high temperature work will be.  Level is as good as a 400 mm spirit level will give you.
