    Hello,

My name is Dave and I’m new to this forum and fairly new to glass fusing. I have a Paragon Kiln that is completely level, yet my glass seems to flow slightly towards the front of the kiln shelf. I don’t (yet) have a small enough spirit level to put on the shelf when it is inside the kiln, but I am guessing that the shelf isn’t quite level even though the kiln is. I’m going to buy a spirit level tomorrow to confirm this.

My question is, should I shim up the shelf, or the whole kiln?

Many thanks in anticipation of your help with this.

Could be the floor of the kiln that is not level. I would shim the posts holding the shelf.

What do you use to shim a shelf?

Fiber paper or a couple of layers of ThinFire (depending upon how much you need to shim it).

Thank you Dana for the answer. I wonders the best way to do it.
