A friend gave me a box of broken leaded glass items that were family heirlooms. I was wanting to “recycle” this glass into something and have NO idea how to go about it or if it is safe to fire. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
I take those pieces and copper foil them into vases, candle holders
and low dishes. I call them found treasures. Leave holes and uneven edges.
Lead crystal is usually safe to melt. Beware, though, when grinding and polishing the finely ground glass that becomes airborn can be very dangerous.
