ParticipantThe more I read, the more confused I get. I know that which glass to use is a matter of personal experience and preference, but I’m just getting started and don’t know which glass to get.
Do you like Bullseye 90coe; spectrum system96; wasser 90coe. Can you mix the Bullseye with the Wasser? Is there another glass you would recommend. I want to make mostly small jewelry pieces like cabachons and pendants and I want to use dichroic accents. What would you recommend as a clear top layer for a layered pendant or cab using a back sheet and some dichroic accents on top of this?
Thanks for the help.

ParticipantWhile some will extole the virtues of one or the other (90 or 96), I would say pick one COE and stay with it. I really think most people who fuse will be happy with either. The problems created by using both (separating them) are more daunting than just choosing one.
I use exclusively 90. I use Bullseye (mostly) and Uro (90) and Wasser. Never had any compatibility problems. One of the things people tout in Spectrum is that it is less expensive. In small (pendant sized) pieces, that really is not a factor.

ParticipantWhatever base glass is used needs to be compatible both with the dichoric base and the clear capping layer. Choose one system of glass and stick with it. No mixing. It’s not worth the risks.
