Someone has asked me if I could fuse her father’s ashes between 2 pieces of glass for a pendant. Anyone have success with this or will the high heat vaporize the ashes?September 19, 2015 at 4:33 pm #13548SBlacstoneParticipant
What an honor to be asked to memorialize a friend’s father’s ashes into a glass pendant.
Yes, you definately can, as I have done so with my father’s ashes. (and have shared them with my family)Use just a tiny quantityof the ashes …and you might want to even mix the ash with a wee bit of fine frit as the ashes do not melt…and may appear rather dusty in appearance. (The frit is purely cosmetic.) Ashes need to be capped between the glass.
Also you may get an air bubble to two…
Hope that helps, and remember you have been asked to make a wonderful & precious pendant.

I put a TINY bit of dad’s ashes between two pieces of glass and fused. There was a small bump where the ashes were, but I fused a decal of his face on each pendant and they were awesome. I made one for each female of the family, now making bolo ties for the men!
