Hi. I am working on a design where I need to fuse a silver wire design between 2 pieces of glass.  The silver wire turns a goldish color on top.  When you turn the piece over, it is still silver on the side that rested on the kiln shelf.  I fired to about 1465 and held for about 15 minutes.  What am I doing wrong?

Nothing.  Silver in the presence of glass and heat turns yellow.  I am told that Sterling silver does not have this reaction as strongly.  You will also have left silver deposits on the shelf, which will give yellow tints to subsequent firings above those places.
