Has anyone out there used fiber blanket to make a mold. I know that you are suppose to soak the blanket in the hardener but what comes next. Will the blanket be limp after the hardner is added? Do I have to form the blanket to another mold then let it air dry then fire it to complete the hardning process? I guess I just need the general procedure.

    Thanks, Keith

Yes, you soak it.  Form it to the master which has had a release put over it – can be cling film.  Let dry.  Fire to at least tack fuse temps.  Sand to appropriate smoothness.  Re-coat with hardner if necessary, fire again if so.  Coat with kiln wash. Use.  Store carefully, it is fragile.
