I recently fired a 10in. tricolor plate (green, white and red). When I opened the kiln, I found what look like blackish drag marks on the green portion of the plate. I tried fire polishing the plate but the marks are still there. Any ideas on cause and how to repair?

Any chance you can post a picture?

    Also, what kind of glass?

Paul; Thank you for your quick response, I’m sorry but after I posted, I cut the green section out and am going to try fusing a new green section into the piece. I will say that all the pieces were cleaned before firing and the kiln was not opened during firing. The marks looked as if I had dragged something across the piece and were blackish in color and while the rest of the piece had a nice shine the marks had a flat finish. Next time I’ll wait for a response before swinging into action. Thank you again
