I am considering using some Wissmach luminescent glass I have for the irid on irid project. Will it work? is it the same as iridescent glass made by Oceanside for example?

My experience is that Wissmach’s lums do not give the same result as irid. I have not specifically done irid on irid (or rather, lum on lum), but the lums will most often burn off at fusing temps if they are face up. Face down on the kiln shelf is a nice result. Capped, a lot of the intensity of the luminescence is lost. My guess is the result will not be what you are hoping for.

Petra Kaiser has a lot of information out there on firing lumi. Temperature matters as well as lumi has to be fired face down on thin fire or papyros to keep the luminescent. If capped it will lose its luminescent. Can be slumped lumi side up as slumping temperatures are lower.
