I feel like I need a section for silly beginner questions, but all I can say is that I have read all over and still have a question.

When I use a mold does it just go on the risers in my kiln or do I put a shelf on the risers as usual and the mold on the shelf?

Thank you for taking the time with a total newbie who cannot find a class within 3 hours of my house!

You want to put the mold on risers, so the holes in the mold are not covered. Also made sure the holes in the mold are open(I use a unbent paper clip).

Thank you, so just risers and mold, no shelf.  Sounds good.

the space that air requires to get out of a mould is tiny.  put your mould on top of some fibre paper pieces, making sure it is level.  All this can be done on the shelf (then you don’t have to re-level the shelf each time) or the floor.
