Hi – I finally achieved the square pendant I have been working on. I fused, grinded and hand grinded the pieces to be a “perfect” square.  Newbie question – Do I have to fire polish the pieces and if I do are the corners going to round?  I want to keep the pieces a sharp square.  Also, on one of the pieces the edges are cloudy.  Thank you

If you fire polish right, the edges will not round.

The grey scum of death that you refer to is probably due to not grinding the edge to a fine enough grit or not cleaning it well enough. Note: one way to prevent that is to use a devit agent on the edges. But always put the piece in water immediately after grinding and clean well.
