I have been experimenting with reapplying labels to my slumped wine and liquor bottles. After I glue the label back on the bottle – either front or back, I apply up to 4 coats of salad oil finish to the label side of the bottle. What I discovered is that when I apply the finish, any minor devit that may have been visible on the bottle seems to disappear, leaving a very shiny bottle.
Of course, I don’t know if this effect will last over time, but some of the bottles – especially the clear ones that seem more prone to devit – are looking mighty nice!
Has anyone else had this experience?
Thanks,
Barb
