A message from Dorothy Hafner:

I am pleased to announce that this fall I have expanded my program of classes in glass fusing to include one-day and two-day programs in addition to my customary 6-week classes.

The studio is located in the Greens Farms, area of Westport CT, 1 hour from NYC on the Metro North Line and just off minutes off Interstate-95. Classes meet in a 200-year old farmhouse and adjacent studios where I now live and work after 30 plus years in Manhattan.

My “visual brainstorming” exercises launch each program, providing students with steps and methods for creating dynamic designs, lively color play and meaningful abstractions in fused glass. Drawings, paintings and words are used as creative springboards.

I teach a complete range of precision glass cutting techniques, assembly methods and kiln stacking and firing programs for creating multi-layered works in glass.

Courses for this fall include:

“Taste the Enchantment”, a one day introduction

“The Elements of Inspiration”, a two-day, weekend workshop

“Design, Inspiration and Realization”, a six week comprehensive program.
