ParticipantI am looking to buy a circle cutter and trying to choose between the Silberschnitt (6 wheel not ball bearing one) and the Terry Fletcher. Since I’ve only seen them online I would like to know if any of you have used these and your opinions. I have the Circle Pro but it is a real pain to set up.
Also want to get a lens cutter, this time the toss up is Easy Cutter or the Fletcher cutter.
Thanks Chris

I have been using the Silberschnitt for about 9 months now and am fairly pleased with it. The wheels cut a clean score and the glass breaks out well. The suction has held firmly and the scale is easy to read and the cutter adjusts easily and securely. However, mine has the slightest wabble in it and I have to be sure to get that slack traveled before I put the pressure on for the cut. It does not seem to have caused any real problems with the cuts so far but it is disconcerting. Also, I have not cut any really difficult glass yet – just straight opaque and transparent stuff. Hope this helps.

ParticipantThe quality of circle cutter you choose often depends on how much you want to use the cutter and how much money you want to spend. I have both styles of silberschnitt. I would recommnend very highly the Silberschnitt ball bearing one – high quality fittings and wheel, smaller wheel than the turret styles (from any manufacturer) so requiring less pressure in scoring.
