I put a piece in the kiln to slump and after a while, there was a horrible odor coming from the kiln. The controller registered 500 degrees so I turned the kiln off and unplugged it. When it had cooled to room temp, I opened it to find that half the project looked charred and broiled on the surface. I did not use glue, used my standard slump schedule and Spectrum 96 glass. Have you encountered this before?
