Have any of you used SLIDE 1800 as a mold release?

Yes, I’ve used it on stainless steel molds. It works just fine.

But have you used it on the bisque molds as a glass release? I have been doing it and it seems fine, but I saw one place that was selling it that said “don’t use on ceramic molds”. So far it’s working for us.

I don’t use it on bisque slumping molds because, frankly, regular kin wash lasts a very, very long time without reapplying. I do use MR-97 on frit casting molds because it gives a finer finish and doesn’t obscure the detail in the molds but once you use it on bisque you cannot go back to using regular kiln wash because the MR-97 seals the mold. I imagine the same is true for Slide.
