Glass likes to be 6-7mm thick due to its surface tension. The likelyhood is that you always will get the needling with only one layer of glass. This will increase with temperature. If you only want a little rounding of the edge, use the lowest temperture you can to get the effect you want. You will have to observe at tack fusing temperatures.
