On a number of moulds there is often a spot that does not seem to want to take the kiln wash. This is a hard spot where the liquid slip was hitting the mould. I have found that covering all the mould evenly will give enough coverage that (contrary to appearances) the glass does not stick at normal slumping temperatures, I.e. Not above 677C
